A 23-year-old engineer named Jahnavi Dangeti has been selected to travel to space through a mission by Titans Space Industries (TSI), a space company based in USA. Dangeti will be part of the mission that will launch in 2029 and will involve travelling in a Titans Space orbital flight. The five-hour flight will allow astronauts to conduct studies that will enhance space travel in the future. It will circle the Earth twice. Dangeti’s training via TSI’s Astronaut Candidate (ASCAN) programme will involve spacecraft operation, flight simulations and various other essential skills; it will commence in 2026. Dangeti, who belongs to Andhra Pradesh, is the first Indian to complete the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) renowned International Air and Space Program.
