4,000-year-old Tombs Discovered

Five 4,000-year-old tombs have been discovered in the Saqqara archaeological sites southwest of Cairo.

Five 4,000-year-old tombs have been discovered in the Saqqara archaeological sites southwest of Cairo. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, these tombs belonged to some of the top officials of the era including court advisors, a senior statesman and a priest. The tombs have elaborately painted walls and contain wooden boats, masks, toys and other artefacts.
