The audience can witness all the possible lengths to which we are affected by nature and how nature is affected by us. Filmmaker David Gameau began travelling the world to find new approaches and solutions to climate change in order to make the future of his daughter safer and happier. ‘2040’ is a truly incredible documentary because it merges technology, creativity and the environment together to send a great message—we should embrace the best of what already exists. By talking to experts and specialists in the field, Gameau has put forth the problems and their solutions so that the audience can learn about climate change and the small steps that can be taken to put an end to it. MISSION BLUE
Dr Sylvia Earle’s wish for the planet is something she calls ‘Mission Blue’—protect our oceans in the same way we are now protecting our land. Earle fell in love with the ocean very early on in her childhood—she grew up right near the Gulf of Mexico and spent most of her time in the ocean. During her lifetime, she noticed that the oceans’ condition has changed drastically. Therefore, she has made it her life’s mission to preserve the beauty of the oceans and speak of their importance because, she believes, “no ocean no life, no ocean no us.”
