I always had questions about drones:
What makes them fly? How are the parts fitted? Are they heavy? My parents never bought one for me—drones seemed too delicate and technical. But everything changed a few weeks ago. I came home bursting with excitement! Our school was hosting a 2-day drone workshop, permitted by our teachers and principal, and conducted by GDIOT—Genius Idiots.
Yes, they proudly call themselves that, because sometimes being called an “idiot” is the first step to becoming a genius! I promised to catch up on all my studies just to attend this workshop. And I’m so glad I did!
Day 1 was full of curiosity:
We learnt about drones using a fun “Maggi-making” analogy—something I never seen before! We explored drone parts like the transmitter, motors, propellers, and electronic speed controllers. I also discovered that a camera isn’t essential for a drone to fly!
Day 2 was all about teamwork:
We identified and assembled drone parts in teams.
And concluded with an exciting obstacle course challenge! The team even made a vlog of our experience! This workshop wasn’t just about flying drones—it was about dreaming big and learning in the coolest way possible.
