To increase awareness of the risks associated with the excessive consumption of sugar, all schools under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have been ordered to raise awareness about the subject. Schools affiliated with the board have been instructed to install sugar boards that educate students about sugar-related health problems and the amount of sugar present in popular products and recommend healthy alternatives for sugar. This effort has been undertaken in response to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ (NCPCR) recommendation and aims to help students opt for healthy foods.
