P.V Sindhu: The star of Indian Badminton
PV Sindhu or Pusarla Venkata Sindhu was born to P.V Vijaya and PV Ramana on 5th July, 1995, in Hydrabad in Andhra Pradesh (modern day Telangana).
At the age of 7, Sindhu was inspired by Pullela Gopichand who won the All England Championships in 2001. Sindhu has won many matches, lost some and learnt from her mistakes. She never lost hope. and has inspired many many girls across India to play badminton.
Her achievements include- Olympics 2016-Silver medal
• Olympics 2020 Bronze medal
• Asian games 2014 bronze medal
• Asian games 2018 Silver medal .
She is titled as the ‘Golden Girl of Indian Badminton’ after her victory in the olympics and as the ‘Ace Shuttler ‘after her exceptional skills in badminton.
She was awarded with the
• Arjuna Award
• Padma Shri
•Padma Bhushan
•Khel Ratna awards
She is the 1st Indian to win gold in the BWF championships.
Hats off to this heroine who loves and played badminton. She is a source of inspiration for everyone and is one of my favourite badminton players.
