Screens – A Boon or Bane?
With every child scrolling about *Labubu* or watching a video of a famous YouTuber, and every adult hunting for clothes or shoes online, technology has taken over the globe. But is it truly a boon or a bane? Let’s find out.
Boon
Forgot to buy a new notebook? Don’t worry – just order it online and it will be delivered within minutes. Online shopping has become everyone’s favourite, and for good reason. You can find clothes in your size, in your favourite colours, and even get veggies, fruits, and school supplies at your doorstep in no time.
Beyond shopping, screens have made education easier with online classes, doctors available at the click of a button, and family just a video call away. Technology really does make life smoother!
Bane
But let’s not forget the flip side. People lived happily before technology, so why can’t we? Bargaining at the market, buying veggies worth ₹200 for just ₹100, or spending an evening with friends and family – these joys don’t come through screens.
Overuse of technology also causes problems: eye strain, lack of physical activity, sleepless nights, and less real face-to-face connection. If we are glued to social media all day, we miss out on nature, books, and the simple pleasures of life.
Conclusion
Screens are not our enemy – but they shouldn’t become our master either. We need to use them within healthy limits. Don’t waste hours on video games or endless scrolling. Instead, try gardening, sports, drawing, reading, story-writing, or maybe even dancing, singing, or acting.
So friends, the choice is yours. Use screens wisely, for learning and growth, and also enjoy the real world – nature, books, family, and the joy of being you.
