Vijaye Raji, an entrepreneur and executive of Indian origin, has been named chief technology officer (CTO) of applications of artificial intelligence company OpenAI. This appointment has been made as part of OpenAI’s acquisition of Statsig, a product testing company founded by Raji. Raji was associated with prominent organisations such as Microsoft and Facebook before starting his own venture. At Facebook, he held various key positions, including vice president and head of entertainment. The responsibilities in his new position will include heading the engineering and development of OpenAI’s applications, such as Codex and ChatGPT.
