Hello everyone! I am Krisha Awatramani from grade 5, Riverside School. Today I, will be twisting the tale of Rapunzel.

“Rapunzel Rapunzel! Let down your hair“ screamed the witch. Rapunzel hurriedly rushed to the window and let down her hair. She noticed that the witch was carrying two brooms with her today. Her usual old Pinewood broom and a shiny new one. Upon inquiry the witch explained that the old one had stopped working and she planned to lock it up. She had gone out to fashion herself a new one. Since it was the day before her birthday Rapunzel was having ideas of escape. So that night she crafted a great plan in her head. After all, she didn’t need some “Prince” to rescue her. Her plan was to go to the rickety old cupboard where the witch had locked up the broom, fix it with a touch of her magical hair and set out of the window. She would use the lanterns that were put on her birthday every year as guiding lights.

As she set out of the window, feeling proud of herself for having escaped the witch’s tower, she heard a sound that seemed out of place. She looked down and saw a young man riding a horse. She lowered the broom and asked, “Hello! Who might you be?” The young man replied confidently“ I’m Prince Charming, and I’m out to save my beloved princess Rapunzel”. “ Ahem! I am Rapunzel. Looks like you missed the bus” She giggled. And she set off for her kingdom, leaving the confused Prince speechless.
