A shocking theft occurred at the Louvre Museum, one of the world’s most popular museums, located in Paris, France, on October 19. Thieves skillfully entered the museum shortly after it opened and robbed eight precious objects, including necklaces and earrings belonging to France’s historic royal figures, in a few minutes. A crown featuring precious stones that belonged to Empress Eugenie, the wife of Napoleon III, was also stolen; however, it was accidentally dropped as the thieves fled. The occurrence of such an incident during the daytime with visitors inside the museum has prompted authorities to tighten security at such institutions.
