Inspector Bhawna Chaudhary has emerged as an inspiring example for women by becoming the Border Security Force (BSF) air wing’s first female flight engineer. This is the first time in five decades that the unit has a woman serving in this capacity, marking a transformational change. Chaudhary was part of a training programme that was organised internally by the BSF. She trained together with four male officers and acquired practical expertise through her involvement in challenging missions, including disaster relief. The director general of the BSF, Daljit Singh Chawdhary, presented the trainees with flying badges after the successful conclusion of the training. Chaudhary will contribute to the smooth functioning of Mi-17 helicopters and some other aircraft.
