To promote gender equality, the Maharashtra government has opted to make co-ed schools mandatory in the state. By encouraging a common educational environment for girls and boys, the government aims to enhance their ability to embrace diversity. This initiative also aims to encourage cooperation and empathy among children, irrespective of gender. Despite being considered a modern shift, some people believe its execution could experience cultural obstacles.
