Held Home

Diya Garg, Class 9, G.D. Goenka Public School, Delhi

When the world got harsh,
And the commenters walked past,
When I crawled through a field
Only for thorns to bruise me.
When I needed help to hold myself up like a rock,
While the jealous wished to see me in fragments
With my heart, full of regret
And my ears, full of taunts.
My true-est friends stood by me,
As if they were meant to cure me.
Their voice recharged my soul,
Their company healed me from within.
Their heart of gold mine
And helped my fragments to combine
They gained my love and trust
along with the name- ‘home’
A Home, I am forever grateful to call mine.
