Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, passed away in a plane crash on January 28. The 66-year-old was one of the most prominent politicians of Maharashtra and was part of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Baramati was an important part of Pawar’s career, with him representing the constituency in the Maharashtra legislative assembly several times. During his career, he was in charge of multiple portfolios, including water resources and finance. He was known for his ability to retain power despite political shifts and changes. Ajit Pawar was the nephew of politician Sharad Pawar.
