Australian and Indonesian scientists have discovered ancient rock art, believed to be nearly 67,800 years old, on Muna Island in Indonesia. The art was a hand stencil that was created by spraying ochre pigment around the hand and was among other similar stencils that are believed to have been created later. According to researchers, the handprint displays unique features, including pointed fingers, which they propose could have been created on purpose. This art is believed to be among the oldest known samples of rock art globally.
