A 27-year-old woman named Captain Hansja Sharma has achieved a noteworthy milestone by becoming the first female from the Indian Army to qualify to pilot the Rudra armed helicopter.

A 27-year-old woman named Captain Hansja Sharma has achieved a noteworthy milestone by becoming the first female from the Indian Army to qualify to pilot the Rudra armed helicopter. Sharma, who belongs to Jammu, displayed her remarkable skills by leading the 251 Army Aviation Squadron during the Army Day Parade as well as the rehearsals of the Republic Day parade. The advanced HELINA (Helicopter launched nag) missile system was show cased during the display. Sharma trained at the Combat Army Aviation Training School (CATS) in Nashik, Maharashtra. Here, she stood first in her course, winning the Silver Cheetah Trophy as the top combat aviator. She became the first woman to be awarded the trophy.
