Artificial Intelligence and the Future

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of machines or robots to solve problems and perform human-like tasks themselves using data and past experiences. This technology has the potential to transform every industry by performing complex tasks. AI has already started influencing the lives of humans. From virtual assistants and AI professors to self-driving cars and automated machines, significant progress has been made in the field of AI. SCARLETT RODRIGUES asked RobinAgers how they think AI will change the world in the next 20 years. Here’s what they had to say.

In my opinion, AI will be a crucial part of life in the future. I think restaurants will use AI robots to serve food to customers. AI will also be used in various industries, including healthcare, transport and banking and finance. Additionally, AI will be used in the agricultural industry to carry out activities such as weeding and spraying pesticides. AI-powered robots will expedite agricultural activities and make them more efficient. It will also aid space technology to a great extent. Human beings who travel to space require resources such as food, oxygen and water to survive. But AI-powered robots do not require these resources to survive. They can record their discoveries, collate data by themselves for years and send it to Earth. Labour in many industries will be automated. Though AI will have many applications, it will also have many shortcomings. It will not be able to replace a teacher, as imparting knowledge and values requires human interaction. I think many jobs will be taken over by AI, but activities like cooking, entertainment and teaching will always require human beings.

I think AI will be a part of all industries in the future. 3D printing and AI will bring about a huge change in the construction industry. Buildings will be built with high precision and without errors. Also, the time and cost will reduce. AI will be used to study genes and different diseases. Robots will also assist doctors with surgeries in the future. They may also help expedite testing, vaccination and medication during pandemics and epidemics. This will enhance healthcare. AI will take over the manufacturing  process in almost every industry. Space technology is already seeing advancement as a result of AI. AI-powered robots will assist astronomers and astronauts on various space missions. AI will also assist educators to deliver lectures and solve doubts at any time of the day. Chatbots, if used appropriately, will provide students with a lot of information. In conclusion, I feel people will not completely lose their jobs to AI, but AI will assist humans in the future.

I think AI will play a very important role in the future. AI will influence everything from small household tasks to complex industrial processes. In the coming years, I think there will be AI-powered robotic domestic helpers to mop the house that will function without the owner’s orders. AI guards will stand by the gates of buildings, ensuring complete security. Only authorised people will be able to enter, thus reducing crimes. In restaurants, AI-powered chefs will make customised food by taking orders well in advance. Robots will compete against each other in football, cricket and rugby tournaments. Robots will serve as soldiers and air force and navy officers. They will also assist doctors with complex surgeries. Though it sounds like AI will conquer the world, human beings will always be irreplaceable. Though robots will perform surgeries, they will not be able to counsel and calm patients down like a human doctor. Though AI soldiers will be more efficient than human soldiers, they will not be able to become martyrs for their country. Also, in the field of sports, true sporting spirit can only be displayed by humans.

I think in the next 20 years there will be a robot in every house that will not only serve as a virtual assistant, but will also help with daily chores such as cooking and cleaning. There may also be machines or robots that can understand human emotions and exhibit them just like humans. AI can help human beings collect data from places that were unimaginable before, like deep in space and the core of planets. But there will always be concerns about how safe and transparent this technology is. I think developments in AI will be a boon as long as they do not have a hazardous impact on humans.

I think AI-powered robots will serve humans in the future. There will be more applications like ChatGPT that will be created. I think small AI machines will help diagnose diseases and abnormalities, which will be a huge development in healthcare. I think applications like ChatGPT, along with AI teachers and professors, will be able to teach a larger number of students. Teaching will be customised as per the needs of children. Though AI may prove to be a boon, I think scientists need to be careful. There should be limitations placed on the use of AI and there should be job opportunities for humans as well.
