Scientists have developed a malleable, artificial skin that can allow robots to sense the world almost like humans. This skin is made using a gelatin-based substance and can enable robots to feel temperature, detect touch and experience pain. This material can conduct electricity and can collect information from physical contact when attached to an electrode. Upon exposure to touch or other sensations, it is designed to transform these sensations into electronic signals, functioning similarly to human skin. According to scientists, this material could have a variety of applications, including making prosthetics.

DID YOU KNOW?
The pigment called melanin gives human skin its colour. This pigment safeguards humans against the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.
