Scientists have created artificial solar eclipses with the help of two European satellites called Coronagraph and Occulter. These satellites replicated a natural eclipse, with one of them positioned to obstruct the Sun. The second satellite employed its telescope to take pictures of the corona and make observations. Unlike previous missions, the telescope and the disk that obstructs the Sun are placed on separate satellites. Achieving these observations is challenging during a natural eclipse. This mission, called Proba-3, will enhance scientists’ understanding of the Sun, its corona and solar phenomena.

During a natural total solar eclipse, the temperature may fall by nearly 5°C based on environmental factors.
