Artist Abha Bhagwat has painted an artwork of a pond with vivid shades of blue in the middle of the campus of The New Age School in Pune. The vibrant painting has been made in a 3,500 sq ft open space and has been filled in with fishes, snails, snakes, frogs, turtles as well as blooming lotuses. The painting took 18 days to complete and has been created using 10 types of indigo floor paint. Bhagwat used old mops and fixed rollers to paint the floor. She has painted more than 350 walls across Maharashtra and 35 walls in other states like Rajasthan, Manipur and Karnataka. Talking about the project, Javed Pathan, the principal of the school said, “Ours is a concept school where we want to have every area and corner as a creative space of learning.”
