Dr Ashokkumar Veeramuthu, a Tamil Nadu-based scientist, has secured a spot in the World’s Top Scientists list for the third year consecutively. This list, annually released by Elsevier Publishers and Stanford University, USA, acknowledges the contributions of individuals in various scientific disciplines. Veeramuthu had also earned this distinction in 2023 and 2024, making his accomplishment noteworthy. Veeramuthu is known for his contributions towards creating renewable energy options, finding techniques to manage waste and dealing with plastic pollution. His research also involves exploring microalgae as an energy source. He has written over 100 research papers during his career and focusses on finding simple methods to protect the environment.
