Chennai Airport’s New Terminal Inaugurated   

The new integrated terminal of the Chennai airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 8.

The new integrated terminal of the Chennai airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 8. The 2,20,972 sq mt terminal cost ₹1,260 crore to build. It has 33 remote boarding gates, 54 immigration counters each at the departure and arrival points and can accommodate 35 million commuters per year. The terminal also has various unique features including murals, Kolam patterns, magnificent pillars and a golden finish because of which it is known as the ‘golden terminal’.
