Indian Railways has introduced drone technology to enhance cleanliness and safety across its network. In April, the Northeast Frontier Railway launched its first drone-based cleaning operation at Kamakhya Railway Station in Assam, targeting hard-to-reach areas such as train coach rooftops and elevated station structures. Equipped with high-pressure water nozzles, these drones efficiently remove dirt from areas that are challenging and hazardous for manual cleaning. This technology will now be used at other stations within the Northeast Frontier Railway zone.
