Sonali Mishra, a senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, has accomplished a noteworthy milestone by being appointed as the Railway Protection Force’s (RPF) director general (DG). She replaced Manoj Yadava in the position and is the first female to be appointed in this capacity. The RPF has many responsibilities, including ensuring order and safety in the Indian Railways and keeping travellers secure. Mishra, a Madhya Pradesh cadre IPS officer of the 1993 batch, will hold her new position till she retires on October 31, 2026. She has previously held numerous posts, including key roles as part of the Border Security Force (BSF), during her career.
