An intelligence officer named Blaise Metreweli has created history by becoming the first woman to be appointed as the chief of MI6, a UK intelligence agency. She will replace Richard Moore in the position, marking the first time a woman will head the organisation since its establishment over a century ago. Metreweli, who joined MI6 in 1999, currently serves as the agency’s director of technology and innovation. She possesses over two decades of experience with a strong background in intelligence. Metreweli’s educational background includes studying anthropology at Cambridge University, UK. Apart from MI6, the 47-year-old has also served at MI5, the domestic intelligence agency of the UK.
