

Tuhin Kanta Pandey, the former finance secretary of India, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Tuhin Kanta Pandey, the former finance secretary of India, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Pandey, a 1987-batch IAS officer, replaced Madhabi Puri Buch, who served in the position previously. Pandey is proficient in the fields of finance and economics and has served in various capacities in the central and state governments during his career. He has worked in several roles including as the district collector of Sambalpur, secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation and secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM). He made substantial contributions to designing India’s economic policies and plans during his tenure as finance secretary. Pandey, who is an alumnus of Panjab University, Chandigarh, will serve in his new role for a term of three years.
