Haiku: Rainforest

Om Mandloi. Class 9, Dhirubai Ambani International School, Mumbai

Mist rises like quiet breath
sunlight drips through green canopies
roots grip ancient secrets
every trunk holds memory
of storms older than history
frogs chant in hidden choirs
vines drape like silk serpents
the air hums with life
insects paint silver arcs
across drifting beams of gold
water curls through stones
learning patience from Earth
wind tastes of fresh soil
shadow and light play endlessly
birds stitch sky to silence
flowers flare like small suns
the forest exhales eternity
every leaf whispers survival
every step feels sacred
the rainforest dreams awake.
