Scientists at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea, have devised a revolutionary method to heal wounds and stop bleeding. They have created a powder called AGCL powder with elements that boost hemostasis, the mechanism that stops bleeding of wounds. This powder can be easily sprayed onto the wound and on coming in contact with calcium and other cations (tiny particles with a positive charge) present in the blood, it transforms into a gel. This technique can be used to seal different types of wounds quickly and has numerous potential applications, including being used in war zones.
