Kinjal Ghosh, a class 6 student at Young Horizons School, Kolkata says,
One ordinary day, me and my mother were playing chess. I used to get beaten in every game and I almost quit chess forever as I was discouraged. But right then my mother said to me, “Do you want to be a GM (Grandmaster)?” I said, “Yes!” So my mother said, “Then watch them play and learn how they think and counter the opponent.” Then, I started watching many chess videos. Everyone said to me, when you have the focus and you feel it right, then only play chess. This motivated me very much and slowly but surely, I am becoming a better chess player. I am motivated and courageous again so much so that I have made an extraordinary comeback. Today, I am a far better chess player than I was. I feel I can become a GM one day.
Daanya Sharma, a class 7 student at Army Public School Damana, Jammu says,
This is an incident from my school. When I was in 6th grade, my Hindi teacher asked me to perform a Hindi speech on the day of our school inspection. She was the HOD of Hindi and the teacher in charge of that inspection day. Of course, I readily agreed to it. I practised for days and days. But, on the day of the inspection, I got so nervous that I didn’t remember a thing! Still she didn’t scold me. Even the people who came were shocked as I stood in deep sorrow. She told me that these kinds of things happen; we have to overcome these setbacks and stand on our own two feet. She inspired me to participate again and brush off the bad happenings.
