Indian Cities in UNESCO List 

Kerala’s Kozhikode and Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior have been included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) list.

Kerala’s Kozhikode and Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior have been included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) list. Kozhikode and Gwalior have earned their spot in the list as the ‘City of Literature’ and the ‘City of Music’, respectively. Kozhikode is known for its literary legacy and has more than 500 public libraries. The well-known musician Tansen belonged to Gwalior and the city’s music is known as ‘Gwalior Gharana’. Gwalior also hosts numerous music festivals including the Tansen Sangeet Samaroh. The two cities are among the 55 new cities added to the UCCN list.
