The first edition of the Indian Lighthouse Festival took place at Fort Aguada, Goa, from September 23 to 25. The event was organised by the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and is part of a bigger initiative that aims at transforming 75 lighthouses across India’s coast into attractive tourist spots. The event included a variety of recreational activities such as classical performances, cultural exhibitions and sessions based on maritime history. Through the event, the government aimed to attract investors for the project.
