A squadron of MH-60 Romeo helicopters was inaugurated at INS Garuda in Kochi, Kerala. The MH-60R, developed by Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky, is known to be one of the world’s most potent anti-submarine choppers. The Indian Naval Air Squadron (INAS) 334, the Indian Navy’s newest air squadron, will be home to the MH-60R submarine hunters, with Captain M Abhisheik Ram as the commanding officer. The MH-60Rs will enhance maritime surveillance and anti-submarine warfare capabilities and bolster operational readiness in the Indian Ocean Region.
