Indian Professor Becomes First to Join SHEAC

An Indian professor named Upasana Mahanta has created history by becoming the first Indian to join the Strategic Higher Education Advisory Council (SHEAC), a body formed by Cambridge International.

An Indian professor named Upasana Mahanta has created history by becoming the first Indian to join the Strategic Higher Education Advisory Council (SHEAC), a body formed by Cambridge International. This body connects enrolment officials from prestigious universities worldwide and works to ensure that Cambridge qualifications stay relevant. Mahanta, who belongs to Sivasagar in Assam, was previously part of the faculty of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She is the dean of admissions and outreach at OP Jindal Global University and her academic interests have spanned subjects including gender and law.
