Kiran Kurmawar, a taxi driver, has secured admission to the University of Leeds in the UK where she will pursue a course in international marketing management. Kurmawar aspired to pursue her higher education overseas when she was younger and was determined to realise her dream. She hails from Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra and her family faced many financial struggles. To support her family, she began driving a taxi. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Osmania University in Telangana and has been granted a scholarship of ₹40 lakh for her higher education.
