India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Samvid Gurukulam Girls Sainik School, India’s first all-girls sainik school, on January 1, 2024.

India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Samvid Gurukulam Girls Sainik School, India’s first all-girls sainik school, on January 1, 2024. The sainik school is located in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, and has a strength of around 870 students. The government aims to set up 100 sainik schools across India in a partnership model with private schools, government schools and non-governmental organisations (NGO); the establishment of Samvid Gurukulam Girls Sainik School is part of this initiative. Through the establishment of the all-girls sainik school, the government intends to provide girls with good career opportunities including career opportunities with the Indian Armed Forces.
