Brothers of Italy, the party of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, has introduced new legislation to fine Italians who use English and other foreign words in their official communications.

Brothers of Italy, the party of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, has introduced new legislation to fine Italians who use English and other foreign words in their official communications. This fine can go up to ₹89 lakhs! Italy aims at promoting, nurturing and safeguarding the Italian language. To do this, it plans to make it mandatory for private and public entities to use the Italian language for the promotion of goods and services in the country. The proposed law also requires official documentation including job titles of employees to be written in Italian.
