Class 5 Student Publishes Book on Polar Bears

Katyayani Mahurkar, a class 5 student at GD Somani Memorial School, Mumbai, published a book titled ‘A Polar Bear Tale’ on BriBooks. When Katyayani learned about the problems polar bears were facing as a result of melting ice caps brought on by the increase in global temperatures, she was motivated to create the book. She also won second place in the ‘Oceans Are Us: Let’s Explore Competition 2022- 23’ by the Jane Goodall Institute India for her letter titled ‘From Saraswati Bear to Parwati Penguin’ that details the repercussions of climate change.
