Kotak Mahindra Bank appointed Ashok Vaswani as its new chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director (MD) for a period of three years. Vaswani will succeed the bank’s founder Uday Kotak, who resigned after heading the organisation for more than three decades. Vaswani, who is currently associated with a US-Israeli fintech company named Pagaya Technologies Limited, is expected to assume his new role before January 1, 2024. In his career of over 30 years, Vaswani has been associated with organisations such as Barclays Bank and Citi Group where he worked in various capacities including CEO Asia Pacific. He studied at Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai, and is a company secretary and chartered accountant.
