Learning does not always have to come from books or the classroom; it can also come from games and playtime.

Learning does not always have to come from books or the classroom; it can also come from games and playtime. Outdoor games, board games, educational applications and even pretend play are fun learning activities for kids. Learning through play helps you get smarter while having a joyful time.

You can include many new, fun activities in your regular playtime. Board games that build general knowledge include Monopoly, which teaches you about money and planning. Additionally, games like Scrabble improve your vocabulary and also help you think strategically. Even games in RobinAge are designed to feed you information on specific topics.

Kids’ trivia games help you gain knowledge on various topics through fun questions. You can learn about countries, space, history and even music through these games. Furthermore, with advanced technology, there are plenty of educational applications that offer games, quizzes, videos and contests, which make learning engaging. Apart from these, pretend play or engaging in healthy discussions with friends can also help you learn new facts. Similarly, if you learn something interesting from a friend, you can do more research about it.

If you enjoy spending time outdoors, you can go on nature walks. You can also get together with your friends to organise scavenger hunts. List things to look for, such as ‘something green’, ‘a pink flower’ or ‘a dry leaf’. This can be an amusing adventure! Or even the most basic ‘I Spy’ game teaches you to study things around you, helping develop concentration and observational skills.

These are all examples of educational play for children. These activities will help you discover the world naturally. And rather than seeming like a task, learning will feel like a fun activity you look forward to.
