A woman named Adiba Anam from Yavatmal in Maharashtra has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Muslim female Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in the state. Despite being unsuccessful in previous attempts, Anam passed the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Exam 2024 with a rank of 142 in her fourth attempt. Anam hails from a simple background—her father drives an autorickshaw to support the family. She aspires to serve and support people from underprivileged backgrounds as an IAS officer.
