A woman named Sai Jadhav broke new ground by graduating from the Indian Military Academy (IMA), an esteemed military training establishment in Dehradun. She is the first female officer to accomplish this milestone since the IMA’s establishment in 1932. Though thousands of officers have graduated from the academy over the years, none among them was a woman. Jadhav underwent rigorous training together with male cadets, displaying commitment and resilience. She hails from a family with an army background with her father, grandfather and great-grandfather serving in the army. The 23-year-old has been commissioned in the Territorial Army, setting an example for other women.
