Mundra Port has achieved a significant milestone by berthing the MT New Renown, a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), at its full capacity.
The port, belonging to Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), is known for handling enormous containers.
The MT New Renown possesses a capacity of 3.3 lakh cubic metres, reflecting the remarkable efficiency of the experts at APSEZ in handling it.
This achievement reveals the port’s capability to manage large quantities of imported crude oil. It also makes lightering unnecessary. Lightering is the process of transferring cargo like oil from a large vessel to smaller vessels (lighters) or barges.
