My Favourite Book

Aayantika Thakur, Class 5, St. Mary’s School, Pune

Reading is extremely important in our lives . It helps us to understand the world around us. Without reading we would have never known about anyone famous or who did great work. I love to read!
Few Benefits of Reading are –
1. Mental Stimulation
2. Knowledge
3. Vocabulary Expansion
4. Imagination
5. Improved Focus and Concentration

Fiction stories take us to different places – the actual or the fantasy lands. They may also take us to another planet or another time.

My favourite author is Enid Blyton. She has written numerous books like –
The Secret Seven, The Famous Five, Malory towers, St. Clare’s, etc.

I love Malory towers series of books. It tells the story of a young & passionate girl Darrell, her sister & her friends as they journey through a boarding school. They have midnight feasts , play pranks (specifically Mam’zell Dupont) and much more. Enid Blyton has written with full enthusiasm and energy and her books are read and loved by many. Malory towers boarding school is in England, Cornwall area near the Cornish sea. There are many characters in Malory towers of which my favourite is Darrell Rivers. She and her sister Felicity rivers have lots of adventure and also both become head girl at a time while in school. In Malory towers they have many rooms such as –
dining hall
common rooms
a San with a matron in each tower
A tennis courts
Natural swimming pool
Court yard
There are art rooms and labs

They also have a Rose Garden stable and also have studies for the older children and mistress room and head mistress rooms. Malory tower series of books are based on many terms. Each term has its own book. Each story is packed with pranks, feasts, new girls and mysteries.

Malory towers gives wings to my imagination and I fly far away. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested.
There are pranks to played, friends made & lots of fun to have at Malory Towers.
