On the Verge of Extinction

Shlok Chanchlani, Class 7, AVM Juhu School, Mumbai

Our lives – our home,
Do these mean nothing to you man.
You are extincting us,
As fast as you can.
To burn through the green trees,
You have taken a conviction.
Because of you now,
We are on the verge of extinction.
As your axe has felled the trees,
continues our habitat loss.
We are no longer free,
Our homes are gone for a toss.
To make clothes from our hides,
Is your addiction.
Because of you now,
We are on the verge of extinction.
Stop converting our hides,
Into expensive goods.
A single effort,
Can save our woods.
To save Mother Nature,
Should be your mission.
It is your duty,
To save us from extinction.
