20-year-old Princess Leonor is preparing to become the queen of Spain and is undergoing training for her future role as a monarch. The Gen-Z princess is set to become the country’s first queen in 150 years and is expected to bring modernity and fresh perspectives to the monarchy. Leonor’s ancestor, Isabella II, served as the last reigning queen in the 1800s. Leonor is the daughter of King Felipe VI, who ascended the throne in 2014. In her future role as monarch of Spain, she will serve as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces and has acquired army, naval and air force training to gear up for her future responsibilities.
