Former Chief Secretary of Chandigarh Rajeev Verma has been appointed as the chief secretary of Delhi by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Former Chief Secretary of Chandigarh Rajeev Verma has been appointed as the chief secretary of Delhi by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Verma, who is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre from the 1992 batch, took up his new role from October 1. His responsibilities include supervising critical initiatives and leading the administration of Delhi. Verma served as the chief secretary of Chandigarh from 2024 until assuming his current position and also served as the chief secretary of Puducherry during his career. He has worked in various capacities in several departments of the Delhi government, including the Transport Department. His experience also includes working with several ministries of the central government.
