In Delhi, the Directorate of Education directed schools to open temporary vaccination centres for students in the 15 to 18 age group. In Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) held vaccination camps at the premises of educational institutions with the help of NGO Project India. Mumbai has 6,12,461 eligible children for vaccination in the age group of 15 to 18 years. In Gujarat, eligible students can only enter a physical classroom if they have taken their jab. In other states, amidst the rise of omicron cases, older school students were called for vaccination and once their dose was administered, they were sent back home to continue virtual schooling as schools closed their gates once again.
