In January 2022, as the temperature dropped below 0˚C across the dunes of the Sahara Desert, hypnotic patterns of snowfall were seen across the desert. In the last 42 years, the desert has witnessed snowfall for the fifth time—1979, 2016, 2018, 2021 and now 2022.
