The Black Rose

Shravya Chhabra, Class 9, Learning Paths School

November, 2023

Looking over the field
Full of roses red
For miles and miles
Its vastness spread
In the extreme centre
A single black one
Like a lonely dark spot
Amongst many a sun
Red roses mocked
The runt of the batch
Red roses blushed furiously
The black simply no match
But the black rose didn’t turn away
Nor did it droop down
He wore his uniqueness
Like a king wears his crown
