‘The Ghost of Malabar’ is a horror novel. It is different from the ghost novels I have read so far. The novel is set in a coastal town of Kerala. The protagonist is a young boy named Edwin. He is an introvert and the only person he interacts with is his grandmother who passed away recently. In the very first chapter, Edwin encounters a ghost named Velu, who is only visible to Edwin. After a few issues with each other, where they need to tread carefully, the story evolves into their growing friendship and how Edwin is going to solve the ghost’s problems of the past.
